Message from D’Arcy!

When I first had a chat with Peter at a Hampshire Chamber of Commerce meeting about the difficulties charities face in building relationships with the local business community I was a little surprised to hear that that was also the case for the businesses. It did not take long for us to come up with the idea of the Corporate Social Partnership. In fact it seemed blindingly obvious where the gap was and how to bridge it. In discussion with no less a person as Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society, our approach was praised.

I wish I had kept a blog charting our progress as I do not think either of us had anticipated just how hard it would be to get a new charity off the ground whilst fully committed to our various jobs. It would not have been possible at all if we had not been able to recruit a first class board of Trustees who have worked hard to put the structure in place. We have also had some fantastic first adaptors who have also helped us develop the process. We are now, at last, in the position to re-launch the website and to make our first round of grants.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all who have helped us so far and for your enthusiasm.
